Enjoying refreshing TaB's while indulging in some really good and really bad television.

Stevie Nicks on Coven and the best SVU I may have ever seen (or close), it was a good night.

So some television is back? I had no idea honestly. So.

Sean Saves The World, The Crazy Ones, The Michael J Fox Show, The Big Bang Theory and Parenthood. Wahoo.

before you end up under a pile of fruitcake

...consider some last minute holiday television specials. Honestly, it doesn't get much better than this. You thought Thanksgiving had good TV, well think again!

This time I went a little more personal. Besides the ones already discussed, these Christmas specials are really dear to me, I remember watching them repeatedly growing up. Each one can honestly make you feel pretty warm inside.

Full House -
S02E09 - Our Very First Christmas Show
CHRISTMAS IN AN AIRPORT. And also an epic speech by Uncle Jesse about the true meaning of Christmas. It also the first kiss between Jesse and Becky which is something most of us were living to experience in the late 80's.
S06E12 - A Very Tanner Christmas
DJ and Steve break up (and get back together) and Jesse gives Becky the gift of snow courtesy of sno-cone ice. Michelle and Stephanie also get a wonderful gift from their Uncle...they visit a homeless shelter and serve Christmas dinner. They finally realize it's not about what is under the tree.

The Golden Girls
S02E11 - 'Twas the Nightmare Before Christmas
The girls decide to make gifts for each other. This is the unveiling of The Men Of Blanche's Boudoir Calendar. They are held hostage at the grief center before going their separate ways for the holidays. In a freak storm for Florida all of their flights are cancelled and they spend the evening in a diner, only to realize that they actually are celebrating with family.
S05E12 - Have Yourself A Very Little Christmas
The girls join Rose serving Christmas dinner to the homeless at her church. Dorothy's ex-husband Stanley is among the patrons after making some bad investments and being kicked out by his current wife. Dorothy gives him a handout which pays for some flowers to get him back into his house, but not before dressing as Santa and bringing some joy to the homeless kids.

Saved By The Bell
S03E24&25 - Home For Christmas Parts 1 & 2 *To be honest, the season/episode may not be right, I'm going off of IMDB because nowhere in internet land seems to know actual seasons/air dates of this show. IMDB, Netflix and the DVDs all have different listings.
In a super random two part episode, the gang gets jobs at the mall over the holiday break (so seriously for a few days). Zack meets a girl named Laura and tries to woo her. Zack, Slater and Screech also encounter a homeless man living in the mall. Turns out this man is Laura's father. They all reach out and try to help them get back on their feet, all while performing a Christmas play (A Christmas Carol, of course) in the mall.

Friends
S07E10 - The One With The Holiday Armadillo
Out of all of the Friends Christmas episodes, for me this one is the obvious choice. Ross wants to teach Ben all about Hanukkah this holiday but all he wants to do is talk about Santa Claus. In an effort to please his son he tries to find a Santa suit but comes up empty. Instead he poses as the Holiday Armadillo to try and teach Ben about the Jewish Holiday. Chandler obtains a Santa suit and Joey obtains a Superman suit so all of the mascots get to learn about THE MACCABEES.

Roswell
S02E10 - A Roswell Christmas Carol
This is the holiday special I will watch repeatedly. It's a great treat even if you haven't seen the entire series (WHICH YOU SHOULD). Max, Michael and Isabel are aliens from the New Mexican crash now hiding in plain sight as teenagers. A local girl they find out has a rare cancer and in an effort to rectify not saving a father from a car wreck Max tries to heal the little girl. The others are against it, fearing they will be caught but once Max starts he can't stop. He tries to heal all the little kids with cancer in the hospital and eventually all of the aliens are on board with his decision wishing they could have healed more. For a teen drama on the WB in the late 90's it is heartbreaking and magical all at the same time (and it's on Netflix). And not gonna lie, I couldn't look at screencaps for this without welling up.

And even though it's been done, if you haven't already, give The OC, Home Improvement, Family Matters, The Office and Doctor Who a shot, they could always use more love.

Especially enjoying Coven and I'll admit maybe not my favorite SVU of this (solid) season but still rocked.

HIMYM, Mom, Hostages and then we take on some Almost Human. And by we I mean me.

Back at the bed and breakfast for HIMYM this week, bad. John Lithgow on HIMYM this week, good. It's a toss-up. Pineapple! I thought the moments between Loretta and Marshall were a nice distraction from revisiting the same place, and I can't say I didn't feel bad for William. I always did like him in The Karate Kid Part whatever.

In Hostages I'm sorry for "shipping" in a show that I probably shouldn't but I'm feelin' guy from Entourage (Kramer, I think) and girl who looks like Nikita but is apparently from House of Cards. They make the boring parts of this show not boring. It's a Dexter thing with me starting to like these bad people taking this family captive, but I don't care, I feel for them and I will continue to feel for them because I just have a lot of feelings. And what about that surprise twist ending? Looks like hostage dude took his date with the President's daughter way too seriously.

Mom. I still want the lady that isn't Janney and Octavia Spencer to be played by Catherine O'Hara and I'm still a little upset that she isn't. It was also rather touching this week. I mean typically you're laughing at Janney and rolling your eyes at Faris but I have to give Janney credit this week for turning it a bit and giving me some tears. Honestly, she had me going. Still hate Faris' white hair.

So tonight finished the two part premiere of Almost Human. Full disclosure, I didn't love the pilot, however I did enjoy the second part and I feel like I'll be giving it a shot. I like the coma guy and feel bad he missed out on several months and also missed out on a leg. Intrigued to see what's up with his girlfriend. I also like the idea of having an android for a partner. Like a Data (Star Trek) or a Kevin (Saved By The Bell, and can we talk about how Kevin is more emotionally advanced than Data was? Seriously, a nerdy high schooler built that, how is that even a thing?). All in all I'd say I think it's got potential for me to like it so we'll give it a shot. I think the Android and the cop man have decent chemistry that could become good chemistry and then so on and so forth. Yeehaw.

Oy with the Thursdays already. Luckily some of these gems showed up early in my life. We have Sean Saves The World, Parenthood, The Crazy Ones, The Michael J Fox Show, Glee, Big Bang Theory, Grey's Anatomy and oh yeah, Reign.

Downton Abbey finale. Holy mother, riiiight? The Simpsons hit hilariously close to home tonight, Bob's Burgers had it's moments though it wasn't my favorite and I feel like my love for Revenge is coming back.

Also some tidbits from Friday, had to mention the Masterchef Jr winner and my high school alum that guest-starred on The Carrie Diaries.

Happy hump day, y'all. SVU surprised the hell out of me and I'm honestly not sure if I will make it through this season of Coven but praise baby Jesus, it was renewed for Season 4!

you're the blank to my blank

Monday at 11:54pm, Doxey sent me this article from Buzzfeed. I was in and out of my sleepy Saved By The Bell haze (sometimes I fall asleep to it) but I was awake enough to click the link and view the bounty of friendship necklaces/charms that were before me.

A favorite, obviously, based on my halloween costume:

via

It obviously got me to thinking about other potential necklace combinations that could work in my favor.

My obvious favorite bff/twins...

Mary-Kate and Ashley. These chicks deserve necklaces or key chains at the very least. Chose from ultra modern Olsen (pictured) or go younger made-for-fox-family movie Olsen. Or anywhere in between since they've basically been around the majority of if not our entire lives.

via

DJ and Kimmy.

I don't think you get any more BFF than this, seriously. AND THEY ARE STILL FRIENDS. Obviously it's a sign, just LOOK AT THIS.

Wow, two right in a row from Full House. Stellar.

Kelly and Brenda.

For the frenemy in your life (we all have one, don't lie). They copy your style, they steal your boyfriend but it's all good because you're there for each other through the big stuff like drinking and diet pills. Wasn't 90210 great?

The Breakfast Club.

Maybe you have multiple bff's and can't decide. Pick necklace/key chain/charm resembling the loving "misfits" of The Breakfast Club. As much as I wanted to be a Claire growing up I'm honestly more of a Brian.

There are any number of epic combinations out there, you just have to find one that fits you. Maybe you're a Tim Taylor and an Al Borland? Possibly a Rhoda and a Mary? Four bffs? Why not get them Dale Gribble, Boomhauer, Bill Dauterive and Hank Hill matchies? Maybe you have a creepy Three's Company situation with two women (if you're a dude)? Who knows, I'm not going to judge you. Basically google "custom photo key chains" or "necklaces" or "shot glasses" and get on that, they're pretty simple and easy to find. This is how I DIY. Google and then pay someone else to do it. It works for me.

HIMYM aka Wow Could It Take Any Longer To Get To The End Of This Freaking Thing, the Mom show that is apparently doing better than Hostages, which is also on tonight.

I haven't had a full Sunday night in what seems like forever (thanks baseball). Bob's Burgers and The Simpson's are back and now that I'm caught up on Downton Abbey I have that to look forward to as well. Oh and that Revenge show I'm still watching, mainly for Nolan.

The only night that basically EVERYTHING is new and it's a holiday. Really, television gods? Honestly? Grey's, Reign, Parenthood, Sean Saves The World, The Crazy Ones and The Michael J Fox Show...here we go. Oh and I threw in a little Glee.

Mondays. Now that We Are Men got the axe, it's just How I Met Your Mother, Mom and Hostages. All good in my opinion therefore I always look forward to having a case of the Monday's.

I'm funny.

Enjoying refreshing TaB's, while indulging in some really good and really bad television.

Thursday. Busy night. Seriously. Between all of the sitcoms (Michael J. Fox, Sean Saves The World, The Big Bang Theory and The Crazy Ones) and all of the dramas (Glee (but not tonight), Parenthood and Grey's Anatomy) and one new show Reign there is a lot going on. But honestly tonight was so right on, I wasn't upset with ANYTHING. And that's rare.
