you put your arms around me and i am home
WRITTEN BY

Tonight so far has been lovely. Welcome to anyone new who started following me! I hope you enjoy your stay and I'll make sure to venture over to your blog as well. Ever since I've been involved with blogging I've met some really fun people, it's a great way to not only connect but find people with comment interests and learn from each other. Now, when will someone pay me to do this?
Zack and I hung out with the doggies for a bit.

And sometimes I really don't know how to take photos. One day I'll get it right, until then, settle with photos from HalleBerry (Blackberry FTW).

I have had this song on repeat the last several days.
I"m really tired today, I'm not sure what it is. I slept a lot last night but for some reason I could not force myself to wake up this morning, bed was much too warm (considering both Aadi and Zack like to snuggle me because of my winter/all year fluff). I am exctied that there is only one more work day before the weekend. We have the podcast on Friday which I think I'll be participating in, we shall see, and then the rest of the weekend is kind of open. We have some Halloween festivities that we've been invited to, where I get to unveil my costume (it is so epic you guys, you don't even know), and Zack will also unveil his (I think it's hilarious). I do plan on taking dear Maddie to see Paranormal Activity 3 and I think Zack is going to tag along...I knew it. I knew he'd be intrigued enough to see it with me. Mwahahaha. We will probably do this Sunday before dinner at Zack's house. Tonight I have to make a trip the happies place on earth to get some last minute Halloween costume supplies and eyeliner. Eyeliner can also be included in my constume, but it is also to make myself pretty on a daily basis, I'll let you know how that works out.

for the love of the dog
WRITTEN BY

I love my husband, he's basically the coolest person on the planet. Surely we have our moments, but when little things happen like what I am about to describe, my heart cannot help but melt in my hand (unlike M&Ms that melt in your mouth).
I left work slightly early today, mostly to gain inspiration for a new project that has been running in my head. I arrived home and got settled in my "office", which is the kitchen, and got to snooping around on the interweb (searching for inspiration, I swear). Our little doggy, Aadi, greeted me in the living room when I walked in the front door and promptly returned to her cozy spot on the couch which she rarely leaves during the day. After I'd set up in the kitchen I heard her dog tag jingle signaling she was on the move. Usually she comes to me in the "office"/kitchen but today she wandered into the real office where Zack was working. There is a small couch in there with a happy Lion King comforter that she likes to cuddle with, and that she did. After about 15 minutes of figuring out what song to listen to I heard a small whimper come from the office. If I cock my head to the right, the couch is right in my line of vision, past the refrigerator. Usually this is a sound of annoyance but before I could ask Aadi in my best doggy sing-song voice, I heard Zack get out of his office chair and walk over to her, directly into the small square I can see in that room.
"What's wrong Aadi?"
Whimper.
"Are you cold?"
No response, just shaking.
Zack then wraps her in the Lion King blanket making sure she is warm and returns to his seat.
MY HEART RESPONDS YOU GUYS.
Normally Aadi is the fungus in his otherwise fungus-free life and today he made her warm and happy! Swoonage is happening, so much I had to share my love of this. Too freaking tender.

Aadi in her usual spot.

...and I believe I am feeling it today.

top: thrifted; pants: target; boots: target
However...I really like my outfit and hair so in true "I swear I'm not a style blogger because I have no style" form, here is a picture of me today!
(Dear Zack, if you see this...don't hate)
I'm off early today which brings me much joy. Having vacation time rules, though I have a lot of reading/research to do so I will still be "doing stuff". At least when I leave work early I'm slightly productive.
There are so many things I need to do with the holidays coming up. We need to design a Christmas card, we need to make goodies for the three neighbors that we have...I have so much to plan on and so many ideas to choose from that I'm completely procrastinating.
I love this time of year, I truly do.

Today has been a good day.
I started the day quite optimistically. While making the shortish/long drive to work, This is Halloween from The Nightmare Before Christmas came on the radio, which inspired me to listen to Marilyn Manson's version which somehow inspired me to listen to Hungry Eyes by Eric Carmen, from Dirty Dancing. I'm not sure why but that song put me in a wonderful mood.
The day was spent doing the typical work thing. Conversations with co-workers, browsing pinterest, watching Buffy, looking at blogs, reading, oh and working. Though the work day ended on a rather heavy note I'd say it was a pretty successful day.
Our friend Kramer who has been staying with us got a job today so that rules. Now he can ski!
After work I made dinner! Now, this may not seem like much but for me it is a rather big feat. I can cook, I just choose not to. Tonight I boiled some pasta and added some sauce! It was amazing and I completely over-estimated the portions so now we can take it to lunch for three weeks.
After that, Zack wanted to play Arkham City so I decided to take a trip thrifting since I found twenty bucks in my pocket. I got four mugs and two shirts for eleven dollars. This is so amazing.
Hopefully Zack and I can watch some Revenge tonight, otherwise he has a lot of catching up to do.
The new(est) Foo Fighters album is pretty good. This song especially.
Life is pretty good. I wish people read this blog.

life redesign
WRITTEN BY
thatjordangirl
I did yet another blog redesign. Sometimes I feel like I need a life redesign. No, that sounds bad. I just need an attitude adjustment. Its truly up to me to be happy, I can't rely on anyone else. I can choose to be happy in a situation or miserable in a situation. Now why would I choose to be miserable? Oh yes, because I am Jordan, the girl formally known as emo (hi Jordan). So, now I have a decision to make. If life dealt me a crappy day then I have to figure out a way, by myself, to turn it around. If I wait for someone else to do it for me than I'm going to be waiting all day, and that's just unacceptable.
In other news...
I had a wonderful day, today. Zack did his radio shindig and was absolutely fantastic (I'll post the audio soon), I had a relatively stress-free day at work, I got several gals there addicted to Pinterest (which will probably get blocked now thanks to me, sorry) and I got a lot of great writing ideas.
I've been working on a book of some form for a while now and I think, after too much deliberation, that I've found a groove. Now, it's just a matter of pressing that groove to paper and hopefully forming sentences that make sense to someone other than myself, and my dogs. I don't know, I've always wanted to write and this blog is the closest I've come to getting anything out there. I've been much more diligent about writing, I am going to try and post at least a few times daily (other than a writing outlet its good to chronicle life and things I find and love, go figure).
Another thing I learned just now, diligent only has one "l". Good job, writer.
I've been pretty subtle on here, though some of you have caught on...we've been talking about a little Shutt. That makes me the happiest girl alive and also the most terrified. I used to be so indifferent about babies and then after getting married and growing up I realize it is something I seriously want to do, be it through pregnancy or adoption, which I believe we will do in the future. However it happens I would love to bring a little one into this home to share our lives.
Zack will be the coolest dad. Tonight we were watching Dexter and, without saying too much, there was a scene where Dexter was worrying about his son, Harrison, by googling different tragedies that could happen at just a minor procedure at the doctors office. That's Zack right there, he'll constantly worry if the kid licks a rock, where myself on the other hand will probably pick their binkie up off of the ground and lick it before sticking it back into their mouth. It helps their immune system!
I've got a lot to say tonight it seems. All this change has given me a lot to think about. I'm hardly complaining, it all makes me very excited, but change is always something to be nervous about. Having a baby will change lives, and change our relationship and we have to be willing to accommodate those changes. We're going to be scared, it won't be easy but I believe that it will be worth it. There is just so much to think about: work, childcare, feeding, birth situation, it is all so endless! Now I need a glass of wine so I can feel like a kid again, just for a second. Oh, and I'll leave you with this song. I am so not a summer fan but this song is one of the reasons summer is amazing and now that I believe it's officially gone I will bid ye summer faretheewell.

I'm up fairly early this morning because Zack was asked to be on the the radio this morning so I couldn't not wake up early to catch him on the morning show from 6am-10am(will post full download once it's available). Proud wifey today, yo (many plugs, but hey, I'm PROUD dangit).
Happy Monday. Hopefully this week is magical.
To start Monday off right....
