Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. We don't have much planned as of yet, but I'm looking forward to shutting up indoors if this snow keeps going like it is. After all my errands are finished, of course.
In light (or dark) of the passing of Mr. Davy Jones, I thought I'd share a memory and a song. Growing up I watched The Monkee's television show with my mom and brother. To get me to fall asleep she would always sing Daydream Believer so I have fond memoris of that song. However, one of my mothers dearest friends was named Jeanie, and for the longest time, probably well into my teens, I thought she was singing about her. "Cheer up sleepy Jeanie...oh what can it mean to a daydream believer and a homecoming queeeeeen." Funny thing, Jeanie would have beat up the homecoming queen, I'm not sure why I never pieced that together. Either way I will probably sing that same song to my child at some point so lets take some time and enjoy.
How can that not make you so happy?

Ha! The Monkees! My mom said all of her lady friends on Facebook were posting about his death. Sad days... He used to be a Jockey... Did you know? :)
ReplyDeletei love the monkeys! had a huge crush on davey jones for sure. i remember getting a monkeys cassette tape @ kmart when i was little and loving their music. :)
