why is there no gun game?

Today is the release of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and I can't tell you how excited Zack is. Tonight while I do girly things (like watch tv) him and Kramer will be downstairs in the nerd cave playing for hours and I'm fine with that. I'm an avid watcher of Call Of Duty but I was sad to hear that they did not have the gun game feature like there was in Black Ops.

Gun Game was my favorite feature of the game. You started at level 1 and you used some sad little pistol. Every time you killed your opponent you leveled up to a better gun until you reached 20. There were usually many people playing at a given time but they only recorded the top three. If you killed someone you moved up a spot and possibly knocked someone else down. You had the option of using a knife for a quick kill because that would demote someone. This could help you gain the lead, however you didn't receive a better gun for doing so, just the sadness that you hurt someone else. It was so much more interesting for me as a watcher, I could sit on the couch with Zack and geek out as soon as he hit three, then two then one.

I will give watching MW3 a fair chance but I really think they missed out not including a Gun Game feature. It gets old watching people run around and snipe each other, if you're going to fake kill someone there needs to be a little healthy competition.
