029. the perfect gal

I will return later with what will be a regular Wednesday blog-o-feature with my Wednesday Lust List and Things I'm crushing on this week but for now, I'm going to post something I've been thinking about heavily. I watch a lot of bad tv and by doing that, I think I've figured out the type of woman I may want to become when I grow up...all based off of four of my favorite tv characters. Together, their traits make up a delicious lady that anyone would be lucky to know.

Maria De Luca(Majandra Delfino, Roswell)

No one watched Roswell, I get that, but I did, and I loved it. Maria was the best friend to the main character on the show, and she served somewhat as the comic relief. She was raised by a single mother, total hippie, and had this weird aversion to men which I later found out, she just wasn't going to settle for anyone that didn't deserve her. For a 16 year old, she was already on track.

Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham, Gilmore Girls)

Yep. Another WB character. I chose Lorelai because of her strong will, but also her ability to have fun in any given situation. Dealt the hand of a lifetime, getting prego at 16 and raising a daughter alone, she's done quite well for herself. And I wouldn't mind being able to rattle off pop-culture references at the drop of a hat.

Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker, Sex and the City)

This was hard to decide, so I actually am going to pick a second runner up for Carrie's spot (more on that in a moment), but anyone that knows me knows I love Carrie. Being a wannabe blogger/writer and always having a weird love of the city (less now, oddly enough), I still think that even in her 30's Carrie was always the normal gal. She had normal emotions, normal reactions and was someone that almost every gal could relate to.

Okay, for my seccond runner up to Carrie I would have to say Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon, Sex and the City).

She was by far my favorite character on the show, and I think she always had a unique was of defending her independence. She's hilarious and cynical and bitter and that's the ONLY reason she wasn't my first choice...Carrie was more optimistic and sometimes you need to be glass half full.

Dorothy Zbornak (Bea Arthur, The Golden Girls)

Dorothy may be my favorite character of all time. I don't know what it was about her or that show, but I've been hooked since I was eight, oddly relating to the older ladies and their issues. Dorothy didn't need anyone, but wasn't afraid to let people close to her...that's tough. She knew her stuff, was smart, established and knew what she wanted and needed...that's a good role model.

Together, they make a strong, independent, charismatic, optimistic woman...

I've spent way too much time thinking about this.

AHHHH, Jordan.
