summertime thought bubbles

It's summer. I'm loving it and typically I am not a summer person. I'm an autumn person (like everyone) and even more recently a spring person (because rain is my best friend). It's hot for a few days and then hot and rainy for a few days and then we have some thunder. I like thunder. Some of my friends do not. That's cool, we can be different.

Sometimes I wish it was like when I was in school and I had summers off. Wouldn't that be nice? And I'm not even talking about the part where you get to call your friends everyday and walk to the Stop & Shop to rip Roswell photos out of magazines. I basically mean I'd still like to wake up early and enjoy the morning and just not have to go anywhere once the morning begins. I want to stay in pajamas, read books and magazines, sip coffee and then iced tea when it transitions into the afternoon. Is that too much to ask?

Especially when it's hot at night and you can't bear to have the covers on. You sleep in a sheet with the air conditioner on high and then have an excuse to bundle up in the comforter even though it's sweltering outside. I like my comforter, regardless of the season. It's a tender thing, that comforter.

Sometimes I wish I had a boat. Not that I'm swimsuit ready ever, (that's a whole other story) but if I could live in a bathing suit and not worry about snickers or skin cancer I would, though I'm sure the skin cancer boat may have sailed (been there, done that) and the snickers are probably in my head because who really gives a shit what I look like in a swimsuit, right?

It's still thundering outside. Anyone else have the uncontrollable urge to listen to some Garth Brooks? The Thunder Rolls...? Just me?

Okay.

tuesday thought bubbles

I will start by saying that all of those that lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks 11 years ago are in my thoughts and prayers and will never be forgotten. Rest in peace. And thank you to all of the service men/women who fought and continue to fight for our freedom, you are all miraculous. I can't express my gratitude enough.

Ahem. A few things. In my recent re-watch of Breaking Bad that started by mistake, I am sad I didn't think to recap my thoughts as it went along. Seriously I wish I could have. Now I'll have to watch it again. Lots of good things coming, and you guys won't be bugged with my tv posting much longer (well, except my Monday recaps because those are fun to write. But a fun/good/awesome project is in the works and will hopefully go live Monday or soon after. It is, after all, fall pilot/welcome back season. Plus I need to get my write on (consider this my resume Huffington Post, Television Without Pity, TV Hangover, etc).

If you would like to vote on potential tv blog names I'd love to hear:

foreveracouchpotato.blogspot
mydvrisfull.blogspot
gluedtotheremote.blogspot

Or any suggestions will be super. Thank you for your time.

pop culture thought bubbles

Things I found this weekish:

Recently I stumbled upon (and not via stumbleupon) this site and seriously I.Can't.Stop.Watching. Every woman there is inspirational. Walter White (Bryan Cranston) will be directing an episode of The Office. I wonder how much meth he will bring? And speaking of The Office I guess one of my spirit animals, the lovely Majandra Delfino (Maria from Roswell, you should all know this from my recap post) will play Dwight Schrute's sister in an Office spin-off. I'm okay with this. Speaking of Roswell, Maria's bff Liz (Shiri Appleby) is engaged! Good for her. OMG I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE DUMB AND DUMBER SEQUEL. I can't even stand it. I just hope I'll still believe Jeff Daniels as Harry after watching so much of The Newsroom.

This was the only stuff that was relevant to me, yo.

closing ceremony thought bubbles

Via my twitter feed...

I may have some thoughts about the closing ceremonies. Madness is playing the closing ceremonies. Madness is the Reel Big Fish of Great Britain--glad they finally got a gig (via Zack). Okay no one knows Parklife but me. The Pet Shop Boy's falsetto voice is not as good as it once was. This is disappointing. Finally I get to see what all this One Direction talk is about.......and I totally love it. Finally Prince Harry is not a 3rd wheel. For like one second I was like OMG QUEEN IS THERE...and then I remembered... They should have a hologram of Lennon. Anyone? I wonder if Lennon has a HP scar? George Michael first showed up as a part of pop-group Wham! then later showed himself in a public restroom. There was only room for one gay in the closing ceremonies. #iamkidding #whereiseltonjohn. I THINK THE SPICE GIRLS ARE NEXT. Nevermind it's the Who, but that's still pretty amazing. They sure play a mean pinball. Or The Kaiser Chiefs posing as the Who. Fail. Anything Bowie is good. Zack used to play video games to Ch-Ch-Changes. Mary-Kate sang Suffragette City in New York Minute. Just fyi. I can't hear Bowie's "Fashion" without thinking of Clueless, and Cher going through her closet picking that amazing yellow outfit. I feel awkward I recognize supermodels. I still remember when my step-mom told me Annie Lennox has the best voice of all time. It is basically true. I keep waiting for Marilyn Manson to pop out even though he's not British. I wish Pink Floyd would have done Another Brick In The Wall. I want to see sausage kids. Tight rope walking is really cool. Russel Brand is my hero. Bono is too busy in Africa to be here, he's blessing the rains. RIGHT ABOUT NOW, Hawaiian shirts only for Fatboy Slim. Where is Moby? I need Moby now. Or the guy from Jamiroqui. Were they British? Is Moby British? Zack knows all the hits, he is giving me info on all of these artists that I don't know. Like Jessie J. I like the idea of the singer people moving around the racetrack thing so everyone can see. Jessie J looks like the chick from Gossip Girl. And like she is trying to recreate the outfit Britney wore in Toxic. I like the idea of the singer people moving around the racetrack thing so everyone can see. Sidenote, why don't I have chocolate chip cookies? OMG HERE THEY COME. Posh never smiles. I hope they don't get hit by a mini. I HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS HAPPY. And followed by Wonderwall. All is right with the world. Its the same band but without the brother. Yeah, makes sense. My heart responds to Prince Harry singing Eric Idle. Queen has made me decide I am done for the night. I'll still probably watch but this is not worth recording.

And then I gave up.

sunday thought bubbles

Today I completed a hike in the snow wearing boots not meant for hiking. I didn't get as winded as I once would have and only my cheeks were frozen because I remembered to keep my hands in my pockets. I consider this a great accomplishment. I had a salad for lunch but I also had a beer (it was a lite beer) which I feel was justified because Zack and I spent an hour at the gym this morning. While at the gym I did a harder setting than I normally do and felt the burn. I read the entire time which kept me entertained and I didn't think of the pain in my calves or the sweat dripping down my chest, I just felt that the book I was reading was really good and I couldn't wait to blow my nose. My hair isn't growing at a rate I find desirable and I gave myself a "work trim" on Thursday because my ends were breaking off anyway. It looks healthier however it's about a centimeter shorter and that really saddens me more than it should. My roots make my hair look gray on top as if I needed any more help looking like an old lady. I only had one cup of coffee today. I am nervous about our work party tomorrow because I have a feeling I'm going to be the only one playing Rockband and I'll look like an idiot. I wish my feet weren't always cold or numb because I really hate wearing slippers/shoes at home but sometimes I have no other choice. I haven't had a soda in a week. I keep changing my mind about what I'm doing with this blog. I really want to write something I can be proud of, actually so far I think this bit of ramblings may be just that. I'll leave you with a photo I took of Zack, Kramer and Kramer's sister Carly on top of Antelope Island today.

thought bubbles

Time for some thought bubbles. I've been following a new writer that I'll share with you a little later, but she's really inspired me to do some of these daily thought bubbles, if only for the sake of writing. I'd been using this site as a means of making daily word flow a habit, and it definitely serves me well, but I think I need to put a little more effort into it. So periodically (sort of like my last post) I may just spew out some random thought bubbles. Could be fun? I want to put more focus on the writing aspect of this blog since initially that is what I started it for, however my random inspiration posts will still be there because they make me happy.

It would be awesome sauce if:

-I spoke in a British accent.
-I could paint my nails without getting residue everywhere.
-I could eat fried foods and have it give me a full figure instead of just a belly. Thanks genetics.
-It was socially acceptable to like really terrible movies.
-I could bake.
-Didn't turn beet red when someone compliments me.
-My bangs weren't still in that "awkward stage".
-I didn't get sick when I tried to drink coffee after 2pm.
-I could be a professional karaoke singer.
-I had more faith in myself.
-My hair would just become super long and pretty.
-Fences could repair themselves.

I'll get out of this funk soon, I promise. December has a whole bunch of fun lying ahead, but for now I'm just looking forward to hanging out with Zack and watching last nights Dexter.

monday night thought bubbles

Some pretty things I found around the interwebs as well as a loving photo the amazing Michael Doxey sent me.

Long distance relationship pillows? I'm not sure how I feel about this but hmm an interesting concept.
Rubber bands, spray paint and a vase make this and it looks easy enough that I could make it.
This was a very uplifting article, and much needed after the 6 food babies I had this weekend.
I love vintage jewelry boxes and Etsy, of course, has some beautiful ones.
Finished this book a short time ago and would recommend it in a heartbeat. Wil Wheaton is one of my major inspirations when it comes to writing, not to mention his character on Star Trek is terribly underrated.
This is one of the sweetest things I have ever seen. Wish I would have thought of this, but who says we can't do it for an anniversary?
It was only a matter of time until someone wrote this, and honestly I think he's the perfect man for the job.

Michael thought he saw me at Target today...

Sorry to disappoint you, Michael, I am not a Fundamentalist...simply a Catholic.

Thought bubbles:

I'm sad I haven't watched Dexter yet.
I never want to take this dress off, don't judge me.
I was really excited to watch New York Minute today.
I felt really pretty today. I know that sounds weird to say but I did. And not because random people complimented me or anything but because I felt girly and confident. Confidence doesn't come easy to me, I'm constantly questioning my thoughts and worrying about everything. There are things I am secure about of course, the big things like marriage and job choices and the people I choose to have in my life but little things make me nuts. Thoughts like "is someone going to make fun of my ridiculously albino legs?" and "Is this outfit too "young" for me often creep into my mind a lot and I usually just shove them out and try not to think about them. Sometimes it is easy and sometimes it doesn't go without a struggle. Today I didn't feel any of that, I just went about my day like lalala and it was good. Sometimes you need days like that and I wish I could just feel that way every day.
