We are taking it back to the 90's. The country 90's. Or, the Garth 90's, which is more accurate. Someone uploaded a bazillion videos of Garth's super early and awkward performances recently on youtube (trust me, I know they're new because when I tried to find the performance from the 1991 Academy of Country Music Awards I used to have recorded on VHS as a child it was nowhere to be found and it still isn't) and I had a field day posting all of these.

This is the closest performance I could find to the aforementioned performance. It's roughly the same concept. Cheesy and awful and kind of uncomfortable to watch but oh it's Garth so who cares.


And then this gem of his first television performance on AM Oklahoma.


I remember watching his performance of Shameless where he always held a rose.


His ever-so-controversial The Thunder Rolls song. Gah.


HOLY CRAP I FOUND IT HOLY CRAP. You know how I know? Reba introducing him. I used to have her monologue memorized.

And not even kidding you, the girl with the blonde feathered hair and bangs? I so wanted to be her.


I die.

Let's also take a moment to appreciate Reba's fringe.

Not gonna lie, tomorrow I'm going to an Aromatherapy learning session, how to use essential oils to support vibrant health. Kind of nerdy but nerdy in an awesome way and I'm pretty stoked about it.

This was a very long work week, I'm welcoming the weekend quite a bit. It's supposed to snow tomorrow so in the morning I'm going to catch up on some writing to avoid shoveling any show.

It's less than a month now until my little Doxey comes home and I couldn't be more excited. 2012 was seriously lacking in Doxey time even though we talk on the reg. Is that still a think, "on the reg"?

Zack and I are going to dinner it up tonight. I really, really want some pasta.

FINALLY. Can I get an "amen"? I swear this week has gone on too long. I am looking forward to a relaxing Saturday. No I'm not, I want to be adventureous. We'll see where the weekend takes us! I have some ideas, now only if I can convince the boys.

I've embraced my inner hippie this week, lots of listening to The Doors and wearing weird patterns. I think it's been fun. I need to mellow a bit, anyhow.

Happy Friday kiddos, we made it through another week. I feel like I've sort of caught up on sleep (only to have it taken from me this weekend, I am sure). I have a full weekend ahead of me complete with jolly rancher vodka, a double feature movie date tomorrow, some Sunday hiking and UFC FIGHTS.

Happy Friday!

Last night, somehow, Zack, Kramer and I stumbled upon karaoke.

It all started when Zack met up with one of his friends in the radio biz. I'd dropped him off at our local "dive bar" around 7pm and went home to Skype with Star and paint my nails. I was really looking forward to watching the Katie Couric news special, but when Zack told Kramer and I to stop by after I picked Kramer up from work I happily obliged. After all, I like beer.

Once we arrived, we saw Zack and his friend whom I will refer to as Flapjack, sitting in the corner. We all squeezed into the booth and talked for a bit, and marveled at the wonderful renditions of Lifehouse songs coming from the stage in the other room. Zack has been on an Everlast kick the last few weeks so he was very excited to upstage the Lifehouse fans.

After his perfomances of What It's Like, and an encore Love Shack, I performed my best Turn The Page (Bob Segar) and Take It On The Run (REO Speedwagon - also my go-to karaoke song). There was a request for Zack and Flapjack to entertain with some of Adam Sandler's The Hanukkah Song, but unfortunately they did not have that song in their library (what?) which was upsetting. So we left.

All in all it was a night of good nights. Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday!

I know. I've been MIA. Why? I don't know. I just felt like becoming a slight recluse for a few days. I may be a recluse for a few more days and then next week I will be back in action. Sometimes you just need time to yourself, right? So...yes.
