This band (along with several other pop-punk heroes) was one of the most prominent in my stereo (I didn't have an ipod yet, just a huge cd case that occupied the passenger seat of my car) when I was 18-19. Fresh on my own due to really happy circumstances at home, I'd listen to them in the parking lot at Target waiting for my shift to start. This was their first album. Then along came the second and then the third and my love affair grew as did their popularity*. Then their fourth album sucked and I was over it.
And then Monday happened and this new single happened and I danced in my car like I did before working a closing at the land of red and khaki and it really made me feel good.
I don't know why I wrote this. I'm not trying to pump them up or promote them or anything like that but alas, I really like the single and I'm kind of excited to feel 18 again if even for two seconds.
You can listen to it here.
*I hate to be one of those people that acts all elitest and says "Well I totally knew them before they were mainstream but uh, I did.
