really bad horror movie afficianado

It started with Candyman and Scream. The first one terrified me, still does, and the latter intrigued me. I think that's where my love for really bad horror movies began.

Especially ones "that are real".

The Blair Witch Project anyone? The original "reality" scary movie, I saw in theaters when I was 14. At the time, I was in eighth grade and three of my best friends (Missy, Katie and Brittany) and I would have sleepovers every other weekend. This weekend we were staying at Missy's and she lived behind a movie theater so it was convenient. Yeah, convenient to see a movie set in the woods and then have to walk through a small set of forest to get back to her house. I don't recall sleeping that night, but basements still scare me.

Case in point, Paranormal Activity 1 & 3 (2 does not exist). I went to see the first with my dear friend Maddie. We walked there and so naturally when it was over and we were terrified we had TO WALK HOME. I walked upstairs and sat in my apartment by myself for probably about five minutes before I decided that I needed to drive 30 minutes to my mom's house to sleep there.

The next day, I took my mother to see it and the cycle continued.

I saw the third also with Maddie (it's a thing we do and we'll do it when the fourth comes out eeeeee) and AGAIN I was terrified on my way home. My husband stayed at home and when I got there the house was dark. I assumed that he was hiding in a closet ready to freak me the hell out but luckily he had just gone out to get a snack.

Zack and I went to see The Last Exorcism together and up until about the last five minutes I really enjoyed it. Now this movie, unlike BWP and PA1&3 was actually filmed but tried to make it seem like it was a documentary. I have a love for Patrick Fabian, too, so I was in from the start and you can't go wrong with movies about possession from demons (I say this as a Catholic, sorry Gma). I've had an obsession with demon takeovers ever since Marlena was embodied with one for several weeks/years on Days Of Our Lives.

So after he broke up with Kelly Kapowski, Professor Lasky decided to become a Priest

I also dragged Zack to Silent House and I still feel bad about that one. I'll admit part of the appeal was to see an Olsen actually act, but the fact that it was 84ish minutes of real time horror! OH EM GEE you guys, that sounds right up my alley!!! It was perfect again, up until the last FIVE MINUTES. Why ruin a good horror story with a moral at the end? Gah.

I saw The Devil Inside with Zack as well and it was awful. Just awful, I don't even care to talk about it.

Today I got a picture message from Zack. It was a photo of the poster from the new movie Apparition. I responded with, "well you know I will want to see it," and then yes, he said, "I sure do."

He gets me, you guys.
