I hear that comes with getting older. Christmas isn't as big of a deal if there aren't little kids around to share it with. I don't get as excited as I used to but I used to at least want to put on the occasional Christmas sweater. Now I'm lucky if I have one glass of eggnog. Presents now are money for family to pay off bills and things we haven't throughout the year.
I still hope that I can see the lights this year, we've talked about Temple Lights and Zoo Lights. Utah sure has a lot to offer through the holidays and for that I am thankful, even if I don't use it to my advantage.
I feel lower than I have in previous years and I'm honestly not sure why. I asked one of my doctors and they think it might be a chemical embalance, low on Vitamin D (hello, I'm pale, I never see the sun, this is not news to me), so they've upped my daily Vitamin D intake from 1000mg to 2000mg so I'm really hoping that will help. I have other issues to work on but I'm happy that this will be a good start for me.
Things that make me happy:
-design books/coffee table books
-soft carpet
-tea
-the smell of christmas,br /> -warm blankets
-tv on dvd
-cookies
-daisies
-the touch, the feel of cotton
-cheese omelets
-snow globes
-a fantastic book I can get lost in
Happy Holiday's y'all. I hope that your days are merry and bright!!
I'm right there with ya. I feel we should plan our Neil Diamond experience in hopes we can raise our spirits. :)
ReplyDeleteThis time of year just sucks. My skin tells me so every day.

ReplyDeleteOh i'm so sorry you've been feeling blue Jordan...hugs to you! and I tell ya, what is it with gifts of clothes, jewelry, and sweet lotion turning into checks and cash to pay bills in what seems like over night?? growing up bites some times. But I loved reading your list of things that are making you happy lately :) Amen to soft carpet, herbal tea, cookies, and cheese omelets (the more cheese the better). And "the touch, the feel of cotton" one made me laugh a little because I totally read it in the singing voice of Zooey Deschanel (fruit of the loom commercial:) who's your twin!! heehee :)
ReplyDeleteTV on DVD always makes a day better for me :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling a little better <3
