140. a few things

Today I was really hungry and my friend Shaileen gave me half of her Westerner burger from Carl's Jr. I felt like a creep asking but seriously it was so good.

Husband was sick today and I tried to use him as an excuse to stay in bed and watch Gilmore Girls all day but I think he saw through me and made me go to work. Instead, now we're watching Masterchef and he's making some rolls. But hey, I did get him a Jamba Juice!!!!

Oh,

I found this.

"Social rules say that saying anything but "our first year of marriage was sheer bliss and joy and perfection and roses and butterflies and those little naked babies that fly around with an arrow" is strange. Because people want newlyweds to say marriage is perfect and easy, because it makes them feel happy that they too once had that "bliss". They don't want to hear that you have never been so mad in your life, that you have never had to try so hard at anything, that you fought and fought ugly, that you have never had to take a harder look at yourself, and that you know every bad thing there is to know about your spouse. Unfortunately, some do not realize that without the lows, the highs aren't as sweet. Without the work, marriage isn't worth it, and it won't mean anything except that two people tolerated each other for 50 years. The work is what makes a marriage a marriage."

And I'm happy someone finally put the truth into words. I've read this before and I'm sorry that I can't give credit to whoever it was because I cannot remember, but I once read a blog post where someone talked about the fact that blogs only show one side of marriage, no one posts about the hard stuff...and I'm not sure why? No one wants to see anyone in a bad light? I can get that, I feel that way too, but going through marriage doesn't make you in a bad light...it makes you a human being and that can be appreciated. I felt at ease reading the above, mainly because I was like "whew...that's not just me, thank God".

Marriage is hard, but it's the best thing in the world, and I think most would agree. Best, after mac and cheese.

My favorite moment is the day is around 10pm, when Husband and I just lay in bed, sometimes I blog and he works, we watch SVU or play Call Of Duty, but either way we just spend time together. Sometimes we'll turn on Family Guy and fall asleep, usually me first, expect last night when he was out and I decided to watch about 6 more episodes.

Jordan got a lil' serious.

  2. ahh i so get this! sometimes i go crazy reading blogs cause i feel like they are so perfectly in love and something must be wrong with me! i decided marriage is just everything intensified. your love is sweeter, you grow closer every day but your fights are worse, and new annoyances pop up ect...

but i wouldnt trade it for anything in the world.
