That's about skiing, btw.
There were some other highlights to our weekend with our dear friend Kramer who has been visiting here since last Wednesday from New Jersey. I'll talk about our night at Red Lobster before I get into the skiing stories.
PS I'm back to blogging I think? Yay!?
Okay.
So Almost Husband and Kramer really wanted seafood. Myself? I don't partake. I eat steak. So, they searched all over many towns for live lobster. Surprisingly they didn't find any (I would have assumed at least ONE store would have had it). So we ended up going to Red Lobster so they could get their fill...and Almost Husband ordered a THREE POUND LOBSTER. That's effing huge guys.
To prepare for such a culinary feat, he treated himself to a bahama blast.

Sometimes he contemplates his beverage decisions.
So anyway, other than that, the weather was really nice so we lit some fires in the pit in the backyard, enjoyed some local beer that was new to Kramer, and just mostly hung around...
But Kramer is an avid skier, so he convinced Almost Husband and I to go...and we've never even seen a pair of skis. So yeah...we looked good though.

So we went to a resort up Ogden Canyon called Snobasin, and Almost Husband and I took a class there to learn how to basically stand on our skis. Honestly, we weren't bad. We did the class for about 2 hours and then ended up just going down the beginner hill several times. We felt pretty good.
Then today, we went to a ritzy resort called Alta. And lets just say, at least me, cannot speak for him, that I was feeling over-confident. So we went up on the beginner trails which (and this should have been a clue) were at a much higher altitude than the one we went on yesterday...and we went down the mountain at a thousand miles an hour and didn't die.
Somehow.
I went down the run at least 5 times and I cried the whole entire way at least three of them. Almost Husband caught on quick and I really didn't do too bad, but the first run freaked me the hell out and I was nervous the whole rest of the time.
Oh, and since I'm a pale chick I now look like this.

Oh baby.
So now, I sit and right this bloggy, sip on a blue moon and listen to Almost Husband and Kramer play some Madden Football on xbox.
Life is joyous.
Back to regular posting this week, I gotta get back on my 30 days of blogging challenge thingy or whatever.
Later gators.
Jordan.
Ha ha! I love the sunburn. I also love that you cried only because I did the same thing, which is why I decided sking/snowboarding are NOT for me. I would much rather sit in the lodge, eat French fries and sip hot chocolate. At least you tried something new and that's great.
ReplyDeleteI used to get the WORST scalp burns when i snow boarded alot.
ReplyDeleteId have to coat my scalp in sunscreen. Id always put my hair in french braids and the whole part of my hair would be fried!
that hat is super cute!
