Baaaasically, we went up to Corellius (about 30 min outside of Portland) to spend time with some of Almost Husband's family (Aunt Natalie, Uncle Ryan and Cousin Amoore). Super good times ensued.
The drive there sucked, we arrived at like 3am, it was cold we were tired. Once the morning came we felt much better and proceeded to drive to Portland to browse around. We had some lunchy at a Vietnamese place and I enjoyed Mongolian Beef. Sidenote, I usually rarely ever branch out and eat food that I'm not used to. I'm a pizza/burger gal, asian food freaks me out, but I tried really hard. Seafood freaks me out, too. BLECH.
Anyho, that night, Ryan and Natalie were going to a housewarming party for a friend that Ryan works with so we decided to tag along. It was good times, got to have some really interesting conversations about living abroad and the whole "oh wow you're from Utah and you're NOT mormon? how does that go?" It's always fun...being a Christian from Utah is a treat, but whatever, I love my mormon neighbors.
On the way to the party...
After that (here's where I may scare my mormon neighbors) we ended up at some bars...lets just say bars there and bars here are totally different, the happiest part of that being NO COVER CHARGE. Sometimes, its rad!
The next day we all were feeling oh so fantastic so we just lounged around the home. Natalie and I watched this movie Chloe (it will be involved in a blog post tomorrow) and then we all went for Sushi where I ate edema-me? That's how blogger spelled it...you know it as those soybean things that look like peas but aren't. I do love them so I was stoked.
That goes to show that he eats sushi and I don't....
That evening we had a rousing game of Apples To Apples, all before turning in about 10. Hey, we had a 12 hour drive the next day yo! BUT we did try to drink some Absenthe and I am very sad to report that I saw no green fairies. I did also document my sadness.
It was eventful and relaxing all at the same time which is exactly what we were looking for. I seriously cannot wait to go back, Almost Husband and I had some epic driving conversations which lead me to be very excited for the future!
When we picked up Moz from my dad's he got a good review, I'm so happy we have someone to watch the big one when we go out of town...I hate the thought of boarding him! The chi chi's SURE missed us, in fact one is trying to hump my leg right now. Awesome.
Hope everyone had a lovely holiday weekend!
